TULSA – In a closed preseason match this evening, FC Tulsa defeated Tulsa Athletic 3-0.
Being the first side to create a chance, FC Tulsa forward Moses Dyer took the first shot that landed wide.
The first half was full of shots created by FC Tulsa, but none made it into the net until the second half. Dyer created most of the chances with defender Patrick Seagrist adding a shot on goal that was caught by the keeper.
FC Tulsa earned a free kick in the 29th minute, taken by midfielder Arthur Rogers which was headed out near the goal. Rogers added three corner kicks, none of which made it to the back of the net.
Two cards were issued during the match, one to Rashid Tetteh in the 43rd minute and another in the 86th minute to Tulsa Athletic.
Early in the second half, Phillip Godrum was quick to fire a shot on goal, which was deflected by the keeper. In the 60th minute, an FC Tulsa forward who will be announced in the coming days finessed a right-footed floater over the keeper’s head into the back of the net. Soon after, a slew of substitutions were made, replacing most of the team with trialists while Nate Worth and the goalkeeper both stayed in the game.
FC Tulsa kept the momentum going as an FC Tulsa trialist doubled the advantage by sailing in a goal from outside the 18 yard box in the 73rd minute. With Tulsa Athletic taking their first shot on goal in the 80th minute, FC Tulsa’s trialist goalkeeper made a diving save to keep the advantage.
Angel Bernal found the back of the net in the 85th minute but was quickly ruled offside.
Adding some late drama, another FC Tulsa trialist notched a goal in the 88th minute, connecting on a header from Nate Worth’s corner kick to make the lead 3-0.
