TULSA – With FC Tulsa’s exploding local fan base over the last two seasons and a crowd of 5,009 at its most recent home match, the largest in over three years at ONEOK Field, Cox Media Group will showcase FC Tulsa on a larger platform this coming weekend. FC Tulsa’s Saturday night road match against Memphis 901 FC will air locally on the station’s main network, FOX23, and will also be simulcast on MY41, the typical home for FC Tulsa’s TV broadcasts.
"Tulsans have been proving their love of live local sports by turning out in growing numbers to cheer on FC Tulsa this season," said Cathy Gunther, Market Vice President, CMG Tulsa. "We are excited to support that local enthusiasm by opening up our Saturday evening programming on FOX23 to bring the live action of an away game home to our viewers."
FC Tulsa and Cox Media Group signed a landmark broadcast partnership prior to the 2020 season, with every FC Tulsa match broadcast locally throughout Tulsa. So far, all 27 regular season matches have been broadcast on MY41, with FC Tulsa’s home preseason match against Austin Bold FC broadcast on FOX23.
“We truly appreciate that our partners at FOX23 see the rapid growth of our club and want to help us continue that growth through our broadcast platform,” said FC Tulsa president James Cannon. “The opportunity to be on local network television for a regular season match is special. We hope all of Tulsa is tuned in on FOX23 at 7:30 p.m.”
Saturday’s match against Memphis will be the first-ever meeting between the clubs and the first of four Central Division matchups against Memphis this season. FC Tulsa enters the match in third place in the Central Division with 901 FC in seventh.
